The Heart of the Healer: A Courage to Lead® Retreat is for physicians, nurses, dental and other health care professionals who wish to enhance their resilience, capacity and skilful means to navigate the complex demands and changes facing leaders in health care today.

It’s hard to imagine a more challenging time in health care: a time of unprecedented change. From every direction come questions about the state of medicine. As health care leaders, we are challenged to lead with courage, integrity and wisdom.

In this retreat, we will consider how we honour our own experience and remain faithful to the core values that brought us to become leaders. We will explore how we inspire ourselves and others to be an active part of the process, to think critically, speak honestly and contribute constructively.  This journey takes us to the heart of vocation.

This is a program for professional development and for personal renewal. In large group, small group, and solitary settings, we will explore leadership and life questions, using personal stories, readings, poetry and stories from diverse wisdom traditions. The formation process, guided by the Circle of Trust® Approach, involves the creation of a supportive intellectual, emotional, and spiritual space.
